As I am sure a lot of people have noticed; it is wedding season! I don’t do a lot of weddings as I like to keep it enjoyable and doing to many would start to become too much of a good thing, so I try and limit it to around 1-2 weddings a month as a maximum. Although it does pay the bills so saying ‘no’ to a potential customer is not really something I do easily.
Sofar I have done about three weddings this season with two more to go this month and next month, so quite a good average.
I always feel that I tend to get the better weddings, but possible that is something that every photographer thinks.. Haha… ![]()
Anyway, I am most looking forward to the wedding I am about to do in the South of France. The wedding is going to take place in the area of Perpignan and the venue is a 9th century old monastery which is supposedly absolutely beautiful. That does sound exiting doesn’t it? I am going there with a friend who is also going to double as my assistent during the wedding. It always helps to have someone around to watch your stuff while I am out shooting the bride and groom. Another great wedding I did was at the zoo…. Now if you look at the photo below, pay close attention to the lion and lioness in the background. Apparently they were inspired by our bride and groom (lovely couple by the way!) so the felt like making some love of their own!

As I am sure you can image that was really hilarious. I’ve just finished making their wedding album and ofcourse the lions had to feature in it as well. I never knew you could actually get married at the zoo these days, but you can! The couple fell in love while in Africa so that was the central theme around their wedding and I thought it was brilliant. I love animals as well, which is I think part of the reason they chose me, so it was a fun day. Exhausting (as most weddings are) but fun for sure!

Another lovely couple is featured below. There is really a huge difference on how people treat the photographer on the day. I mean; I am not there to be entertained obviously but I do like to have some food or I do like to be treated as a normal person and not like some annoying sidething, that has to be dealt with. Truthfully that never really happened to me, as I usually have couple who actually treat me as being a guest at the wedding! I don’t expect that though, but it is really nice if people make the effort to make you feel at home as well. I do work roughly 10-12 hours on any given wedding day so it is extremely tiring as I have to make sure I don’t miss anything and am mostly on my feet.

So two more weddings to go before the season is ending (for me at least) and then I can go on my own vacation!! Yeah!! I will be trying to update my blog via mobile phone, which I have tried and it does work, but no photos as I currently have a phone without a camera..(What??!!! Yes, really!!) but will try and see if I can find an internet cafe every once in a while to post some photos. So first off to France for a lovely wedding (and ofcourse in the meantime I also made it into a little holiday), then back for three weeks and gone again for a three week long holiday in Indonesia’s Sunda Islands! Whoohoo!!!
Tonight my dad is going on a planeride which he got from us for his birthday, so I might be posting some photos of that tomorrow, but I am extremely busy tomorrow with the last shoots before I move the studio out of the old location, so don’t expect many posts between now and the end of next week….
