So simple, yet so delicious! And hey, you can still see it as nutritious: it’s got calcium, protein, and vegetables! I like to refer to Laurent as “my partner,” instead of “my boyfriend,” just to emphasise that it’s a stable relationship (even though we haven’t been together nearly as long as you and Tom). And I when I mention his parents, I refer to them as “my in-laws”, because “my boyfriend’s parents” is just too long! [Reply]

What delicious (and lovely) little tartelettes! These would make fabulous company fare… holiday brunch food? It’s so funny the conversations we have over our relationships! Paul and I are married (almost 11 years!)… but we sometimes refer to one another as “my girlfriend/boyfriend” — probably because it brings a youthful feel to our relationship. [Reply]

 Last night we had a lesson in patisserie from Carle Douglas from Douglas Delights. We had a patisserie lesson before from Rob in the first course, but there is a big difference… Rob is passionate about cooking and everything else except patisserie I would say, while Carle is a master in making desserts and beautiful...

I grew up watching my mom make choux pastry for a dessert she made all the time. I’ve tried it once or twice. Unfortunately, mine never turn out as well as my moms. I’m so envious of your cooking classes. I’m hoping to take some in a couple of years with my hubby. Sounds like fun, fun, fun!!! [Reply]

Hallo, [Reply] Simone (junglefrog) Reply: Het is moeilijk om precies aan te geven wat de boter doet zonder dat je ziet maar door het inkloppen van de boter wordt het een zalig geheel. Zonder de boter zou het simpelweg niet compleet zijn. Ik vond de hoeveelheid suiker niet overdreven veel alhoewel de totale taart natuurlijk wel heel erg zoet is.. [Reply]

OMG Look at all those mushrooms. I miss going to the market in Mexico with my dad where he knew where to find the best mushrooms for the restaurant. They had so many varieties that I don’t even remember them all. Good memories I am making a batch of puff pastry today and if I can get my hands on some mushrooms I’ll copy your idea [Reply]

There is so much to love about this recipe! It was a long time before I had my first taste of chanterelles, and I agree, they are delicious. It’s quite daring of you to pair them with strong cheeses, but you’re right, they also have a strong taste in their own way. I’m sure it was excellent! [Reply]
