LOL.. Not pathetic at all to cook to look good Lovely pasta dish…amazing that it doesnt look creamy given the mascarpone. which is a good thing coz that soo good and soo healthy!! Btw, I don’t like anger hair pasta too! I bought a pack recently, coz I was curious and now, I am trying to find someone to palm the rest of it too.. It’s tooo fine for my taste! [Reply]

I choose what to make for dinner based on looks all the time! I often think: “Hmmm, my stack of blog recipes and photos is starting to get a little thin – time to make something pretty!” I think we all do it… But this does look nice! I love the colour the saffron adds! [Reply]

I am a big fan of pasta for lunch, as it is a bit heavy for me for dinner (and in Greece we eat late, 9-1pm). I love sandwiches too and I found that in Amsterdam there are many great sandwich shops with a good variety of fillings. [Reply]

Simone, this looks delicious. This is our favorite kind of meal–pasta and a sauce that can be made in the time it takes the pasta to cook. YUM! You love Jamie, really? I couldn’t tell! LOL. And there’s nothing wrong with posting a lot of soups, specially when it is so cold and snowy (we have similar conditions here in Ohio). I really haven’t baked any sweets lately because I am too weak and would be munching on them all day long so I better stay away from them altogether. Happy belated birthday, btw! I am sorry I’ve been away for so long. It’ll take me a while to catch up with your delicious posts, my only source of sweets these days [Reply]

I need to get an iPhone – if only for the cooking apps! Interesting note, adding feta to the soup. People sometimes complain that pea soup lacks flavour, so this must add a nice kick! Simone – when I think of pea coup..like many others I’m sure, I can’t help thinking of the Exorcist lol However, there’s no way Regan would be spewing that beautiful soup. It looks so delicate, creamy and delicious, not to mention bright green, unlike those olive pea soups you get in a can (bleccch). Finally, the 8 mac shells..nowhere near perfect. They just had one good side i could fake and get away with for photos lol [Reply]

What’s not to love about Jamie, we’ve been big fans since he burst Naked on the scene many years ago. The plus point about this soup is that it uses frozen peas, none of that old fashioned business of soaking hard dried peas overnight like our grandmothers had to do. [Reply]

ooh, I really like the photo of an empty soup bowl at the end of the post: you must have really liked it! I remember seeing Nigella make a pea soup once on TV and it looked great, as does yours. So simple, yet so delicious! And hey, you can still see it as nutritious: it’s got calcium, protein, and vegetables! I like to refer to Laurent as “my partner,” instead of “my boyfriend,” just to emphasise that it’s a stable relationship (even though we haven’t been together nearly as long as you and Tom). And I when I mention his parents, I refer to them as “my in-laws”, because “my boyfriend’s parents” is just too long! [Reply]

What a lovely lunch! I love the colour of the fresh greens! I’ve also noticed the weird extreme opinions concerning Jamie: some adore him, others can’t stand him. I have to admit I haven’t seen or read enough of him to have a real opinion. He seems nice, and any recipes of his that I’ve come across seem quite good – that’s all I can say for now. Beautiful picture of the cat, too. It looks peaceful – and yet still alert, as only cats can be. [Reply]

You could also add “wt” and have a What the f*** on top of your blog, because this f is really annoying! Italians love this type of pasta, but I can never find the right sausages for it in Greece.
