I tried making my own pasta once and that was more than enough for me. : ) It was hard! Granted, it tasted great, but I’m afraid I’m just a buy-a-box-at-the-store kind of gal. Frits is such a beautiful cat! I don’t think I would like to travel with a large group, because I like to be free to do what I want when I’m on holiday. However, I think I would enjoy cooking with people. I’m actually taking an art class right now (for the first time in my life). At first, I would come home really depressed, because I was intimidated by the group, and by the fact that we had to show our sketches to everyone, and have the class comment them. I am not the kind of person who is comfortable in those situations! But now, after only two weeks, we’re all laughing together, and it’s really fun. I think that with cooking (in which I’m a little more confident than sketching), I’d have an even greater time. Anyway, I’m glad you enjyed the group cooking experience! [Reply]

Simone, food blogging has shown me how people can become friends, very good friends, over a common activity. I totally understand where you are coming from! I also think that food and cooking are so passionate and so creative that only certain types of people really are involved in things like food blogging or cooking classes and that is what you discover after being with them for such a short time. Most of my friends are like that also dinner MUST be hot while I can have it hot or cold or warm so long as it is food LOL LOL. It’s funny that Tom insists on having a hot dinner. In the winter, I insist on having at least one hot meal a day, but in the summer, I’m more than happy to live on salads, sandwiches, and cold soups. The thing about the noodle “salad”, though, is that it can easily be turned into a stir-fry (just take out the cucumbers), which would also be good. Maybe you could try that? Anyway, your chicken looks very delicious, and I love your photos of the almonds! I am nuts about nuts, too, but cannot imagine that the almonds would hold a balance of flavour in a curry, so I am not surprised they were not overpowering. I think the texture would be nicer with the nuts not being so smooth. I am surprised that they held their own within the flavours. Really. It looks lovely. [Reply] |
