Ah…THAT SALAD! Do you know Pret A Manger in England? They are a chain selling fantastic sandwiches and salads and everything is made on the premises. Anyway, when the no-carbs craze hit England they introduced the no-bread sandwich, which is basically a salad. They had a similar flavour with rocket, mozzarella and tomatoes and some roasted pine nuts. However, I like your parma ham addition. Delish! Apple-cinnamon, blueberry, raspberry and lemon curd they sound delish and your pixs are so professional I’m stunned those currants and strawberries look fab. YUM! Looks like yours turned out perfectly!!!!! Gorgeous pictures as always… In regards to the butter, freezing the block and then grating helps immensely. Also, I rolled my dough out between two sheets of parchment paper and it actually worked =) Usually I attempt rolling on the counter and then give up, grab the mess, and smoosh it into the tins… Yours are really lovely! Great job! The texture looks just right! I also used lemon curd in one of my tartlets, and I thought it went quite well with the almond taste. (Regarding the pastry, maybe there wasn’t enough water? It’s always tricky, because too much water makes the crust too hard once it is baked… I am far from being a tart crust expert, but I have had a LOT of crust-related problems!) [Reply]

I would never have guessed that you rushed making these. They look divine! I also had the same problem with the crust, no A/C, and 95 degree will make that happen. It tasted the same though, so in the end that’s what counts! [Reply]

These look and sound absolutely delicious! I think that your dough probably had too much butter in it which was already too soft. However, I always do the “grab and press” thing when making individual tartlets as I find it makes better textured shells. [Reply]

 While this is certainly not the most creative bagel you can come across I do think it is one of those classic combinations that are just soooo good! I had to be in the studio today and figured I might as well have some fun with my lunch before eating it…I didn’t feel like cooking...

Yummy! I like the picture with the dark background. It would even been better if there was a little bit more light on the front of the bagel. It also gives a richer and exclusive feeling to the salmon bagel . The lighter version looks like a fresh light lunch dish. So it’s all in the feeling you want to give to product. [Reply]

Love salmon and bacon and cream cheese! Sometimes I like adding a slice of a tomato or a few slices of cucumbers. I think the first shot is a great close-up and the second one tells the entire story. Zuid-Holland and Noord-Holland and while the country is officially called ‘The Netherlands’ it is also referred to as ‘Holland’ by which the country is meant and not the provence. But officially Holland is not a country – as you correctly state. We call it Nederland. The problem is that a lot of countries have never heard of The Netherlands, while for some reason we are widely known as Holland. And while this is technically wrong, I don’t think it is something that we’re gonna ever get rid off! [Reply]
